A multidisciplinary artist, photographer and environmental art ‘as’ therapy practitioner interested in people and places, producing works that are a social commentary on the world we live and more often than not, connecting the two.
With her photography work, Sandra's reportage side plays on an aesthetic that sees her visual metaphors and engaging photo stories candidly or poetically capture, comment or play on our everyday. Sandra's strength is seeing things differently and capturing beauty in the unexpected. With a contemporary style that adds itself to diverse themes including social portraiture, photojournalism, fine art, urban, outdoor, landscape and nature photography.
As a conceptual artist focusing on therapeutic art processes, automatism and catharis, Sandra is also developing a body of interdisciplinary environmental art works connecting people to nature in predominantly urban environments. These research-based works explore the art process, ecopsychology and nature re-connection and include various nature-based commissions, workshops, site-specific projects, artist collaborations and research.
